i hate ichat.
apple, you fuckers, that ridiculous "the aim service could not send the message: you have sent too much data too quickly” message that appears every other line i type in ichat has finally gotten the better of me. what, the internet can manage to send 100 megabyte files across continents in minutes, but it can't handle a couple of bytes of text sent between two desks in my office? i don't think so.
mac programmers: who's up to the challenge of finding some way to hack out this flaw? certainly, one of you out there must be as frustrated by this as i am; and you're clever, obviously, since you're programming for the mac, so get to it. plus, i'll sweeten the deal: i'm trying to raise somewhere between $500 and $1000 dollars, as a gift to the person who figures out how to rid the world of that sentence. who's up for it?

Try Adium. It handles multiple services like AIM, Yahoo and MSN plus tabbed chat windows; which is coming in the next forest cat release of iChat; which you still won't be able to use.

the thing is, i don't want to give up ichat as a tool, because it's all hooked into all the other os x apps. i like the intertwingly. i just want the fucking thing to work right.

u can't be all intertwingly all the time, sweetpea. listen to mike. plus, adium has a very attractive green duck icon, and why would you want to deny the green duck?

I switched to Adium for that exact same reason. That message would leave me foaming at the mouth angry. How i sit possible that software could be released with a flaw that glaring!?
